Moon Dog offers one-on-one sessions to help with individual issues. Private training sessions are conducted in hour and a half blocks, taking place at Moon Dog’s training facility or the client’s home. These sessions are dedicated to observing dog behavior and implementing positive reinforcement techniques to teach both the dog and the owner. A crucial component of the initial session is an enrichment inventory. Since resolving behavioral issues often requires multiple sessions, we offer tailored packages designed to suit each unique situation.Sessions can be either in person or virtual and are available in a 3, 5, 8, or 10 session package.

Would you like to have a trainer you can call whenever to ask questions? Moon Dog has a monthly subscription service to help with this. Each subscription comes with unlimited Facebook Messenger messages, up to four phone calls a month, and up to 2 in-person sessions.

Basic Skills Program

The Basic Skills Program is designed to include all the basics that come with having a dog.

This foundational class provides the essential building blocks for your dog’s training journey. We cover key basic skills such as sit, stay, down, and place, alongside fundamental actions like recall, attention sound, walking on a leash, let me see, and leave it/drop it.

This 6-week course is structured to provide an hour and a half of instruction each week, focusing on:

• Canine communication
• Socialization fundamentals
• Basic manners

The Basics 101 class is suitable for dogs of any age, not just puppies. All enrolled dogs must be up-to-date with their rabies immunization.

Max 10 dog/owner pairs for each class. Private classes also available.

This class is an online class that focuses on teaching both the dog and the owner. Online modules are set up for canine communication, socialization, and basic manners.

The class is set up to meet virtually once a week for 6 weeks. We are currently using the Google Classroom platform. The Basic Skills class is not just for puppies! Moon Dog accepts all dogs into the class, regardless of age.

Coming Soon!

Moon Dog offers a class series on the collective experiences known under the term Socialization. This series is a four week class, with each class approximately 2 hours long. Each class is limited to ten dog/owner pairs. This course includes online videos.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to better both their lives and the lives of their dogs by teaching the dogs what you want them to do. This is why Moon Dog offers sliding scale fees to families in need and payment plans. Please inquire about payment schedules before signing up for a class so that accommodations can be made.

Moon Dog does not have an age requirement of the person working with the dog. I do ask that handlers under the age of 14 have an adult onsite during the training session (either in-home or public place).

All dogs must have proof of rabies vaccination as required by Alaska State Law.
